Science centers can be one of the most effective ways to review Forms of Energy or any other science concept, but they can also become one of the most overwhelming parts of science instruction if they require too much prep.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the best science centers are usually the simplest ones.

Students don't necessarily need elaborate materials or complicated directions. They need opportunities to practice concepts in meaningful ways while working independently or with partners.

When teaching Forms of Energy, I try to use center activities that allow students to repeatedly interact with vocabulary, examples, and real-world applications.
